Digital Theatre moves centre stage

In our latest mini-video, Digital Theatre’s Harriet Affleck tells us about the performing arts educational platform’s work with theatre companies to offer unlimited access to the world’s best productions, alongside backstage insights, interviews and analysis.

Project: Digital Theatre+

Founded: 2009

Founders: Robert Delamere and Tom Shaw

In short: Digital Theatre+ is the world’s leading educational platform for English and the performing arts, providing over three million students, within 1,150 schools, colleges and universities, across 65 countries, with access to 800+ performances and educational resources. DT+ improves student engagement and exam results by bringing the books and plays on the English and performing arts curricula to life, and is recommended by exam boards.

In Harriet’s own words: “At Digital Theatre, we really believe in what we do, which is provide access to theatre and performing arts to a diverse audience around the world. We’re changing the world by getting live theatre and live performance out there to people who wouldn’t ordinarily get to experience it or get to see it. The arts are so important to all of us who work at Digital Theatre – we all believe in our mission so we really live and breathe this principle of making sure that everyone can be part of it and everyone can enjoy it and everyone can be taught what theatre and performance can mean.”
