What is the summit about?
Power & Responsibility debates regulation, trust and the unintended consequences of the digital age. And it explores the technology response to the challenges before us.
The summit looks at the digital changes taking place across society and the economy. It covers critical themes including privacy, online safety, trust, developer ethics and fake news.
We will look at the challenges that these issues present, and look at the policy and technology solutions to them. We will ask if regulation is the answer – or if technology itself holds the answers to the problems its application has created.
Who’s speaking so far?
The summit day is split into three broad themes – people, business and society. Each section will feature industry-leading speakers, policy and academic experts and a head-to-head debate with audience voting. We will hear from experts in the fields of trust and ethics.
We’ll also hear answers, focussing on tech for good solutions to some of the problems that have come with tech innovation.
“With great power comes great responsibility” – Voltaire (and Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben in Spiderman)
250 are attending from across business, startups, big tech, policymakers, think tanks, charities, academic and consumer groups. We’re building in time for people who come to connect and learn from each other.
What will I get out of the event?
Understanding. Inspiration. Lessons. Ideas. Connections.
